The Woodlands Homeschoolers is a co-ed team of motivated and talented female and male youth participating in a variety of fun and meaningful activities through BEST Robotics. We compete in local and regional BEST Robotics competitions. In addition, we participate in our community through robotics demonstrations we give to schools, scout troops, and sponsors; fund-raising activities we hold; and community service projects we undertake.

Our coed crew is student-led.  We develop valuable life skills such as teamwork and leadership as we run our “own business” with the mentorship of adult advisers to guide us along the way. We also enjoy a variety of social activities such as game-night, movie-night and masquerade ball.

Aside from designing and building our team robot to achieve this year’s challenging mission, we also design and build creative and artistic display booths, we produce a creative and informative presentation, we write a notebook to capture our team’s achievements, we reach out to local businesses and organizations to build sponsor support, we produce a variety of fun fund-raising events, and we enjoy wholesome social activities.

This is our thirteenth year competing in BEST Robotics. We are a highly motivated team that has won the BEST award 12 times in local Houston-area competition and as a result we have progressed to regional Texas-area competition events 12 times as well. We are comprised of junior and senior high school students, female and male.
